Favorite Mojito Recipe

This is our favorite mojito recipe. Properly muddle and don't use too much club soda, and you'll not regret it.

mojito1

Grab a light rum, simple syrup, fresh mint, a lime, and some club soda. You'll also need a muddler and a strainer.

mojito2

Make some simple syrup - it's quick and easy and then you've got it around for iced coffee and plenty of other cold drinks. Heat 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water on the stove until all the sugar is dissolved. Let cool and pour into a container of your choosing. We use condiment bottles.

mojito3

Muddle 8-10 sprigs of fresh mint with 1 oz simple syrup in the bottom of a shaker. Turn firmly about a dozen times, taking care not to brutalize the mint too much!

mojito4

Shake it all up with ice and then pour over a strainer into a lowball glass. If you don't strain it, that's ok too, you will just have little green bits all in your drink. It's really fine either way. Top with club soda (only an oz or so, don't dilute it too much!) and a sprig of mint.

mojito5

Yum!

mojito6

This recipe is from the PDT Cocktail book. We've made a couple recipes and this is by far our favorite.

Mojito

8 sprigs fresh mint 1 oz simple syrup 2 oz light rum .75 oz fresh lime juice 1-2 oz club soda

Add the mint leaves and simple syrup to a mixing glass and muddle.

Add everything else, then shake with ice and fine-strain into a chilled Collins or lowball glass with ice.

Top with 1 oz club soda and garnish with mint sprig.
